Our October film. the Social Dilemma, was nominated for seven Emmy’s, and ultimately won two. ABC New’s Mark Kennedy called it "an eye-opening look into the way social media is designed to create addiction and manipulate our behavior, told by some of the very people who supervised the systems at places like Facebook, Google, and Twitter."
We had a very lively discussion about the threats to our society and our democracy that the polarization intensified by social media is causing. There was alot of interest in continuing to learn more about polarization and discussing it in our group. We voted to select a film along these lines as our next film.
