Film Discussion Group | LWV of Mother Lode

Each month, members of our group meet to discuss the selected film and to choose a film for the following month. Films are generally documentaries about a topic of interest to the League, but at times we may also select a dramatic film, such as Nomadland, if we feel it is particularly well-done.

We encourage you to join us in viewing these fine films, and to enjoy our lively conversations over Zoom. Discussions are casual and informal, and help to keep our feeling of community strong in this time of social distancing during the COVID-19 restriction. We also provide a Facebook page to allow members to share film recommendations, comments about the films, and recommend related resources to explore our topic in more depth.

January's Selection

We took a break for the holidays and invited everyone to take a look at their choice of recommended films. This January, we're looking forward to finding out which films our members viewed (on the list or not) and getting their feedback and recommendations. We'll share their input with all our members after our discussion. Will we have a walk-away winner?

You don't have to attend our meeting to submit your vote. If you've watched any of the films on our viewing list OR discovered any hidden gems you'd like to share, please send your comments on the film(s) to Nan Fuller or enter your nominations as a comment on our Facebook page, We'll consider all nominations at our meeting.
