COMMITTEES IN THE LEAGUE
Committees are where the real work of the League is done.
As a League member, do you have an interest in a particular area of League work?
Opportunities are available in the area of Voter Services, Advocacy, and many administrative areas such as Communications, Publicity, Membership and various smaller time-limited tasks.
VOTER
SERVICES
Chair: Jane Braga
Meets the 3rd Monday of the month at 3 pm
Provides services for voters from the election-related activities of voter registration and education to providing an observer corps to promote transparency and accountability in government.

REGISTRATION
Promotes voter registration through voter registration drives and events, literature, community outreach and publicity.
OBSERVER
CORP
Attends public meetings of elected officials exercising the individual's right to know, and promotes government transparency and accountability. Provides reports to the general membership and Interfaces with Program and Advocacy.
CANDIDATE
FORUM
Plans and leads membership in all aspects of hosting forums of candidates for local elected offices.
VOTERS
EDGE
Works with candidates for local elected offices to ensure they popuate our Voters Edge database with their information.
PROS
& CONS
Pros & Cons offers a nonpartisan, well-researched explanation of state propositions, county measures and local measures, with supporting and opposing arguments.
PROGRAM

Study Group meets the 4th Thursday of the month at 1 pm
Researches local, state, and national government issues and takes action.
HOMELESSNESS
STUDY
Co-chairs: Deborah Rei and Trudy Craig
Researches, clarifies, and develops a focus for the study of the issue of homelessness. Presents the results of their study to the membership and to provide direction to the Board on how the League might deal with the issue studied.
MEMBERSHIP
Chair: Patti Cherry
Meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at 2 pm.
Recruits, retains, and empowers membership to meet the mission, objectives, and goals of LWVML, LWVC, and LWUS in a manner that fits the distinctive willingness and capacity of the individual member, to ensure a healthy organization.
CARE
Chair: Ellen Beck
To combat the possible social isolation as a result of COVID-19 measures, a team of care callers makes monthly calls to our members to check-in and update members of League news and opportunities for involvement.
