Civil War (or Who Do We Think We Are?) was chosen as our November selection. Members were interested in this film's potential for meaningful discussion about our polarization and the role of the linkage of our identities to different realities/facts about our history and race in reinforcing our differences.
This thought provoking documentary explored two divergent views of the Civil War... or the War Between the States. Was it about slavery or states rights? Did the North win the war and the South win the reconstruction? How do our opinions affect who we think we are and what it means to be Americans?
