OUR PLEDGE

WHAT IS THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS?

The League of Women Voters was formed in 1920 as an outgrowth of the movement to give women the right to vote following the passage of the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The League is proud to be  nonpartisan, neither supporting nor opposing andidates or political parties at any level of government, but always working on vital issues of concern to members andthe public. To learn more about the League's 100-years of civil engagement click here.

Our fledgling Mother Lode unit was formed in 2017 and is operating under the guidance of the League of Women Voters of California until we establish ourselves as a fully independent chapter. At this time, we are proud to claim over 50 members.  We are actively recruiting more members of all parties and gender  to join us in promoting voter registration and informed participation in our democracy.

Please join us at one of our meetings held virtually over Zoom, the first Saturday of each month. We are an open and welcoming group, so don't hesitate to contact us at our email, lwvml@gmail.com or call us at 209-454-0904  for information about how to attend.
