The Key Role of the Observer Corp in Supporting Our Mission
General Meeting
February 4th, 10 am
Speaker:
Jane Braga, LWVML Voters Services Chair
Our Observer Corps attends Tuolumne County Board of Supervisor meetings and Sonora City Council meetings.
Members of our League's Observer Corps will report on how their work addresses the League's mission: Defend Democracy and Empower Voters while encouraging government transparency. They will be available to respond to questions about their role and their observations on the workings of each of these bodies.
The Observer Corp recently wrote up a year-end summary of their observations of the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors and the Sonora City Council and submitted it to those bodies for consideration. You will find that document here.
Meeting Safely via Zoom!
Due to the recent surge in local COVID-19 cases, we will continue to meet over Zoom.
Members will receive the Zoom link and all related meeting information in the week prior to the meeting. Non-members are encouraged to attend the speaker presentation, and should contact
Janet Telford at jtelford829@gmail.com for meeting information.
Note: If you missed January's presentation on the response to the Washington Fire, by Dore Bietz, Coordinator for the Office of Emergency Services (OES) for Tuolumne Co, and Emily Kilgore, CAL FIRE Chief Information Officer for Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties, you will find the video here. They also shared some contact information for OES and CAL FIRE, and you can access that document here.
Almost every month, our President, Pam Vlach, summarizes the activities and priorities of our League.
